AT&T Raises Profit Outlook as Broadband Additions Hit a Record
AT&T raised its 2026 adjusted earnings forecast on Wednesday after quarterly revenue and profit exceeded analyst estimates. The US telecoms group now expects adjusted earnings of about $2.40 a share, up from its previous $2.25–$2.35 range, Reuters reported.
Third-quarter revenue grew 5.3% to $32.3 billion, above the $31.69 billion consensus compiled by LSEG. Adjusted earnings were 65 cents a share, compared with expectations of 60 cents.
The company reported a record 769,000 internet net additions across consumer and business customers: 442,000 fibre connections and 327,000 fixed-wireless connections. It also added 379,000 postpaid phone customers.
Reported diluted earnings from continuing operations were 13 cents a share, down from $1.29 a year earlier. This quarter included a $2.6 billion non-cash charge tied to the planned sale of its Mexico wireless business; the prior-year result included a gain from selling its DIRECTV investment.
AT&T is using fibre and wireless bundles to strengthen customer relationships. It says its fibre services now reach more than 39 million locations, with a target to exceed 60 million by 2030. That expansion target and the earnings outlook remain forecasts.
