UAE and France Sign AI and Energy Agreements in Abu Dhabi

Companies and institutions from the UAE and France signed agreements covering artificial intelligence, energy efficiency and refining in Abu Dhabi on 20 October, according to the Abu Dhabi Media Office.

The package includes three memoranda of understanding with AMI Labs. Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence will explore research cooperation and knowledge exchange. G42's framework covers cloud computing infrastructure and AI models, while Analog will explore integrating AI models into robotics and physical AI applications.

In energy, ADNOC Gas and Schneider Electric signed an MoU to assess advanced technologies and operational improvements. ADNOC Refining and Technip Energies signed two contracts relating to refining-capacity enhancement and sustainable aviation fuel.

The signings took place at the UAE-France Business Dialogue at Qasr Al Watan, attended by Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The distinction matters: the AI MoUs outline areas for future cooperation, rather than announcing deployed products. The official announcement did not disclose financial values for the agreements.
