Western Digital Revenue Jumps 55% as Storage Group Forecasts Further Growth
Western Digital reported revenue of $4.38 billion for its fiscal first quarter, up 55% from a year earlier, in results released on Thursday, 22 October. The period ended on 2 October 2026.
The data-storage company expects second-quarter revenue of $5.0 billion to $5.2 billion, implying annual growth of 66% to 72%. That is a management forecast, not a completed result.
Adjusted diluted earnings reached $4.64 per share, compared with $1.78 a year earlier. Under US accounting rules, diluted earnings were $4.63 per share, versus $3.07.
Chief financial officer Kris Sennesael attributed the quarter's performance to growth in storage volumes and improved pricing. The company generated $1.60 billion in operating cash flow and $1.38 billion in free cash flow.
Western Digital also raised its quarterly dividend by 17% to $0.175 per share. It forecast adjusted earnings of $5.60 to $6.00 per share for the second quarter.
The outlook remains subject to uncertainty, including dependence on large cloud customers and potential supply-chain disruptions, the company cautioned.
